Jolie Reportedly in "Financial Crisis," Selling Luxury Homes and Preparing to Leave the U.S.

The lawsuit between Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie and her ex-husband Brad Pitt regarding the ownership of their French winery is still ongoing. Recent reports indicate that due to soaring legal fees resulting from the prolonged legal battle, Jolie is facing financial pressure and plans to sell her residences in the United States.

According to *RadarOnline*, Jolie quietly sold her apartment in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York, as early as July 2025. She had held this property for nearly 30 years since 1997. Although details of the transaction were only recently revealed, the actual sale price was not disclosed, but it is estimated to be slightly below $2 million.

While selling the New York apartment, Jolie is also preparing to offload her mansion in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles, valued at approximately $25 million. It is reported that she has begun showing this renovated property to qualified potential buyers to raise funds and realize her long-term plan of moving abroad.

Hollywood insiders reveal that Jolie is currently finding it "extremely difficult to maintain her lifestyle in Los Angeles." A casting director also analyzed: "She turned down acting roles to focus on her family, which is admirable, but it certainly affects her income. This is also why she is considering moving overseas, as her money will last longer there."

However, due to the custody agreement with Brad Pitt, Jolie cannot move away from Los Angeles until the children are adults, as Pitt still considers the city his primary residence. Jolie complained during a 2019 interview: "Once the children are 18, I hope to live overseas. Right now, we have to base our lives where their father chooses to live."

Insiders state that the actress, who hails from Southern California, "never wanted to live in Los Angeles long-term," but she has no choice due to the constraints of the custody arrangement. Now, she is ready to embrace a life "no longer centered around Hollywood." If she can successfully sell the Los Angeles mansion at a profit, these funds will be crucial for Jolie, as long-term legal expenses have placed a significant burden on her financial situation.
