But now the "House of Cards" actor, who has faced widespread allegations of sexual misconduct since 2017, wants to clarify comments made in a Nov. 19 interview with The Telegraph. "I don't usually make it my business to correct the media; if I did, I wouldn't have time for much else," the 66-year-old actor said in a video shared on Instagram Sunday, Nov. 23. "But in light of the recent articles claiming I am homeless, I feel the need to respond."
Speaking with The Telegraph last week, Spacey alluded to struggling financially. "I've had very little coming in and everything going out … I'm going where the work is," he said.
In his video on Sunday, however, the actor said he wasn't clearing the air for the press − but rather to speak to "the thousands of people who have reached out over the past few days offering me a place to stay, or have just asked if I'm OK."
"And to all of you, let me first say that I am truly touched by your generosity, full stop," he added. "But I feel it would be disingenuous of me to allow you to believe that I am indeed homeless in the colloquial sense."

Beginning in 2017, Spacey has been accused by some 15 alleged victims of sexual assault and harassment. While several of the claims went to court, the actor was never convicted by a jury.
From 2023: Kevin Spacey acquitted of all 9 sexual assault charges by jury in UK trial
The first sexual misconduct allegation brought up against him was from actor Anthony Rapp, who told BuzzFeed in an October 2017 interview that Spacey made sexual advances in 1986. At the time, Rapp was 14 and alleges it happened in Spacey's New York apartment.
Spacey has denied all allegations against him. In February, Spacey faced a second British lawsuit alleging sexual abuse, just over 18 months after he was cleared of all charges in a high-profile criminal trial in 2023.
Kevin Spacey addresses homelessness rumors
In continuing to address the root of the rumor, Spacey praised the journalist, Mick Brown, from The Telegraph, who interviewed him, but said it was a "shame" that the publication chose to use a "knowingly misleading" headline for "the sake of clicks."
"I've been working nearly non-stop this entire year, and for that, I have so much to be grateful for. And there are many people, as we all know, who are indeed actually living on the streets, or in their cars, or in terrible financial situations, and my heart goes out to them," Spacey said in his video.
It was "clear from the article itself that I am not one of them, nor was I trying to say that I was," Spacey added.

Spacey also spoke to The Telegraph that he feels the scandal brought on by the sexual assault allegations against him is "in my rear-view mirror" and lamented the friendships he lost with some in Hollywood.
"There may be individuals that made decisions that I don’t think were fair, based on what they thought they knew at the time. … The fact that a whole bunch of people in Hollywood that I had relations with were an inch thick, OK," he said. "But my friends, my colleagues, my family – I have not felt isolated at all."
As for a return to Hollywood, Spacey said he feels the opportunities are slowly bubbling back up. (In May 2021, he landed his first acting role since the 2017 sexual misconduct allegations; since then, he's landed other acting roles, including 2024's "The Contract.")
"We are in touch with some extremely powerful people who want to put me back to work," he said. "And that will happen in its right time. But I will also say what I think the industry seems to be waiting for is to be given permission – by someone who is in some position of enormous respect and authority."
Spacey, who won Oscars for "American Beauty" and "The Usual Suspects," was one of Hollywood's biggest stars before he was first accused of sexual assault, following which he was dropped from the TV drama "House of Cards."
