Poland provides assistance to Ukrainian refugees for the last year - Nawrocki

Polish President Nawrocki signed a law extending the legal status of Ukrainian refugees until March 2026, calling it the last time. He noted that the Ukrainian minority should be treated like other national minorities in Poland.

Polish President Karol Nawrocki stated that he signed the bill on assistance to Ukrainian refugees, which extends their legal status until March 2026, for the last time. This was reported by Interia, according to UNN.

Details

I signed the law for the second time because I don't want to be the president of chaos, but I emphasized that while the prime minister and the parliamentary majority are watching us, I would like to remind you that I signed this law on assistance to Ukrainians for the last time.

- said Nawrocki, referring to his decision to sign the amended version of the law.

According to him, the government eventually fulfilled his demands, albeit "not completely."

"I believe that the Ukrainian minority in Poland, which is already in its third year after the start of the war, should be treated with due responsibility, of course, but in the same way as all other national minorities in Poland," the president added.

Recall

The Polish Senate voted for the bill without amendments, which retains the "800+" aid only for working Ukrainians.

Support for Ukraine in Poland decreased from 95% in 2022 to 48%, accompanied by an increase in cases of discrimination against Ukrainians, against the backdrop of skeptical statements from official Warsaw.

In Ukraine, applications for financial assistance of 1000 hryvnias have started, but problems arise when registering for children

Kyiv • UNN

Starting today, applications can be submitted in Ukraine to receive 1000 hryvnias of "winter assistance."

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko announced the start of applications for a one-time cash assistance of 1000 hryvnias for all citizens residing in Ukraine. Applications for children are submitted by parents or guardians. The Prime Minister announced this on her Telegram channel, writes UNN.

Details

You can submit a request in two ways:

  • through the "Diia" application – from November 15; the payment will be credited to the "National Cashback" card, the funds must be used by June 30, 2026;
  • through "Ukrposhta" – from November 18; pensioners and recipients of social benefits at Ukrposhta will automatically receive 1000 UAH, others can submit a paper application at the branch.

This is part of a broader government winter support program for the population, which includes additional payments, transport benefits, fixed gas and electricity prices, and assistance to vulnerable groups during the war.

Addition

Users who are trying to apply for the "winter thousand" for children are currently experiencing technical difficulties in the "Diia" application.

It is not yet possible to apply for a child's payment – the service reports that this option will be available later. Currently, you can only apply for your own one-time assistance.
